Chubby Chocolate Chip Cookies
This beloved cookie recipe was inspired by a sweet four-year-old named Matthew, who stole my heart—and more than a few of these cookies! Over time, they’ve become a signature treat in our family, loved for their thick, soft centers and rich, buttery flavor. What makes them “chubby” is the secret combo of an extra egg yolk and bread flour, giving each bite the perfect chew and irresistible texture. These cookies are more than a dessert—they’re a little piece of home. 🍪💛
The Ingredients
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 egg white, room temperature
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup white granulated confectioners sugar
1, 1/4 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter at room tempature
3 cups flour (bread flour is awesome)
1 cup small semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup ghirardelli choclate chips
The Method
Whisk Together: For a few minutes the eggs, then add salt, baking soda.
Add your sugars: Mix in the butter too.
Fold in Flour: slowly fold it in, once combined well, fold in the choclate chips. Fold it in David!
Refrigerate dough: 1 hour at minimum. I like to roll up my balls of dough and then freeze overnight before baking.
Bake & Enjoy! Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. I like to sprinkle a little salt on top. Cool on rack and eat as many as desired.
